Idrees Ahmed, born on 22nd January, 1989, in Quetta, capital city of Southern Province of Baluchistan. His family belongs to a conservative tribal area of Baluchistan, where any idea of playing and performing creative arts was strongly discouraged. So any person, who could demonstrate talent in such areas, could face abandoned or disowned from the tribe. Growing up, he was a shy kid, never openly sang in front of the crowds, Idrees, began his journey to music, by listening to tapes, in car stereo of his dad.

He used to take the keys of the car, to listen to the music, while his dad was away from home or taking a nap. Earlier, during the childhood all he could listen to, were Indian Bollywood song namely Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu and old greats like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Idrees moved to Cadet College Murree located in North Punjab Province of Pakistan, after clearing the Matriculation exam.

There, he found the atmosphere was considerably liberal than back home in Quetta. Idrees, started to sing with a close network of friends, who insisted him to sing at the bonfire, function of the college. That was the first time, he sang on the stage, in which sang a few cover of local pop/rock acts and eventually stole the show. After complete his intermediate, at Cadet College Murree, he moved back to Quetta, where he started to perform in local gigs, sang anthems for FC (Frontier Constabulary).

Quetta had limited audience for his style of singing and musical genre, and upon consultation with various friends, he decided to move to Lahore, to pursue a Master’s degree in Musicology. There he met Sarmad, at Al-Hamra art’s council, at an event, later on both started to work towards, new compositions.
